Rusina Mining Announce Higher Value Platinum Discovery In Philippines

Adelaide (ACN Newswire) - A new platinum anomaly considered more significant than known existing mineralisation has been announced by Rusina Mining NL (ASX: RML) at its Acoje platinum and nickel sulphide project in the Philippines

Rusina said today it planned to conduct further survey work immediately after Easter on the anomaly, located to the northeast of previously drilled mineralisation at Acoje in the Zambales Province on the island of Luzon.

"The anomaly was identified from recent Induced Potential (IP) survey work on the project's central and northern blocks, after returning high order anomalies of below 100 Ohm metres Apparent Resistivity," Rusina's Managing Director, Mr Robert Gregory, said today.

"These values are more than two times more significant than those identified over known lode structures in Acoje's central block resource area and provide a clearer picture for future drill targets," Mr Gregory said.

Rusina's drilling campaign at Acoje last year showed that although significant Platinum Group metal (PGM) intercepts were being achieved regularly along strike in the north, the exact orientation of these high grade thick shoots of up to 200 metres long, was difficult to predict.

"The newly acquired IP data will allow the orientation of the new and existing anomalies to be better targeted by drilling," Mr Gregory said. The IP survey will continue after Easter on Acoje's Southern Block.

Rusina is currently reworking historical data from the project to also bring its known chromite resources - mined up until the early 1990s as one of the world's largest such suppliers - up to JORC compliant standards. The Company has engaged a Project Manager to complete a Scoping Study on remaining chromite ore at Acoje.
